[origin: WO9110382A1] A chair (1) comprises a base frame (2), a seat member and a back member, the seat member comprising a seat cushioning (6) with a seat-supporting surface, the back member comprising a back cushioning (7) with a back-supporting surface, the back member being fixed or optionally pivotable relative to the seat member. In order to provide a user with a choice between a sitting posture and a rest posture, a further reversible member (11) is fitted, said member comprising a cushioning (14) and being pivotable about an essentially horizontal and transversely extending axis (10) arranged at a distance below the seat member between an upright position where the reversible member cushioning is lying adjacent to and along the back member, offering a back-supporting surface, and a lowered position where the reversible member cushioning provides a forward extension of the seat member, offering support of the shanks of an occupant of the chair.

La chaise décrite (1) comprend un cadre de base (2), un siège et un dossier. Le siège comporte un rembourrage (6) avec une surface de support et le dossier comporte un rembourrage (7) avec une surface de support pour le dos et est monté fixe ou éventuellement pivotant par rapport au siège. Pour permettre à l'utilisateur de choisir entre une position assise et une position de repos avec extension des jambes, on prévoit un autre élément réversible (11), qui comporte un rembourrage (14) et qui peut pivoter autour d'un axe sensiblement horizontal et s'étendant transversalement (10) placé à une certaine distance au-dessous du siège, de façon à pouvoir passer d'une position droite, dans laquelle le rembourrage de l'élément réversible est situé adjacent au dossier, le long de celui-ci, offrant ainsi une surface de support pour le dos, à une position abaissée, dans laquelle le rembourrage de l'élément réversible forme un prolongement vers l'avant du siège, offrant ainsi un support pour les jambes de l'utilisateur.
