[origin: EP0512123A1] A bridging device for expansion joints in bridges or the like has lamellae (3) arranged parallel transversely to the longitudinal axis of the traffic route, which are supported on at least two inclined bars (4, 5, 6) which are supported rotatably and displaceably in the joint edges on both sides and bridge the joint obliquely in relation to the longitudinal axis and which are guided rotatably and displaceably in sliding swivel bearings (8) on the underside of the lamellae. The inclined bars (4, 5, 6) are arranged parallel to one another, as a result of which identical support widths for the lamellae (3) are produced.
