Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0512196A1] In winding machines for winding up webs (1) of material, especially webs of paper or cardboard, onto winding tubes which have a supporting or carrying roller (6) which is at least partly wrapped around by the web (1), arrangement of a web cutting device and a device for applying an adhesive strip (34) which is adhesive on both sides in the region in which the supporting or carrying roller (6) is wrapped around, is known. The cutting device contains a cutting element which can be placed on the wrapped around supporting or carrying roller (6) and can be moved in a transverse direction. According to the invention, an adhesive tape dispenser for an adhesive tape (27) with a layer of adhesive on a backing tape (28) is arranged next to the supporting or carrying roller (6), which adhesive tape dispenser contains a supply roller (26) and a rewinding facility (29) for the empty backing tape (28). The adhesive tape (27) is guided transversely to the web (1) around a free-running pressing roller (30) which is mounted on a transversely movable slide (23) in such a way that the adhesive tape (27) can be pressed against the wrapped around supporting or carrying roller (6). The cutting element (wheel 36) is attached to the slide (23) behind the pressing roller (30) in the direction of application (35) of the adhesive strip. <IMAGE>
