Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0512235A1] In the case of known fuel distributors, which have through valve openings for receiving fuel injection valves, there is a risk that, in the event of hot starting of an internal combustion engine equipped with this type of fuel distributor, vapour bubbles will form and these lead to starting difficulties of the internal combustion engine. <??>The new fuel distributor has a fuel supply line (29) divided by a partition wall (37) into a first duct (33) and a second duct (35), the second duct (35) serving as fuel reservoir, being connected to the first duct (33) by a through-opening (39) and connected to the individual valve receiver openings (5). After switching off the hot internal combustion engine, fuel free of vapour bubbles can collect in the fuel reservoir and, in the event of hot starting of the internal combustion engine, this fuel makes it possible for fuel which is free of vapour bubbles and easily ignitable to be sprayed through the fuel injection valves. <??>The fuel distributor according to the invention is especially suitable for fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing, applied- ignition internal combustion engines. <IMAGE>
