[origin: EP0512465A2] An induction crucible furnace having a hollow-cylindrical crucible (1), a furnace coil (3), partially encasing the crucible, and a plurality of magnetic yokes (4), pressed against the furnace coil and parallel to the furnace axis, which furnace has a right-parallelepipedal, preferably cuboid, body of cage construction. The furnace body comprises an upper frame, made up of at least four bars (6, 7, 8, 9) at right angles, a lower frame, made up of at least four bars (14, 15, 16, 17), at right angles, and at least one column (10, 11, 12, 13) at each corner for the right-angled connection of the two frames to form a right-parallelepiped, in particular a cube. The pressing of the magnetic yokes (4) against the furnace coil (3) takes place only via the flexurally rigid upper or lower frame. <IMAGE>
