[origin: EP0512631A2] There is described a circuit for protection against the increase of the output current for an integrated circuit comprising a power device (3) driving a resonant load (L) connected to a power supply and a control circuit (2) for switching the power device (3) on and off. The protection circuit comprises a clamping circuit (1) suitable for causing the disactivation of the control circuit (2) and the quenching of the power device (3) when the current flowing through the power device (3) reaches a maximum preset value. The protection circuit also comprises first and second circuit means (R1, C1, 8, E1, T1, C2, TP4) suitable for controlling the operation of the clamping circuit (1) at a first and a second underground (V1, V2) of the voltage (Vc) across the power device (3). <IMAGE>
