Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0513479A1] An impact breaker having at least one rotor (4) which can be driven, is rotatably mounted in a housing and is provided with impact rods is proposed, the housing containing a charging mouth (3) for the material to be broken up. Inside the housing, at least one impact mechanism (6) with adjustment drive is provided in the form of a hydraulic cylinder. In order to change the width of the charging mouth, an approximately vertically displaceable cross-member (10) is mounted on the charging side upstream of the first impact mechanism (6), which cross-member (10), by being raised, can eliminate blockages possibly occurring in this region. In the region of the first impact mechanism (6), a further adjustment device (15) is provided on the charging side, which device is capable, when the said impact mechanism (6) is raised, of eliminating jamming in the upper mouth space area. In order to be able to eliminate blockages in the lower mouth space area above the rotor, the adjustment drive (15, 16) provided here for the gap adjustment is simultaneously also used for raising the impact mechanism (6). Analogously, other impact mechanisms (7) fitted downstream can also be provided with this device. <IMAGE>
