Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0513492A1] With this illuminating device it is possible to uniformly illuminate the passenger compartment of an elevator cabin (1) indirectly from the roof (6) using a fluorescent tube and to always light up actuating devices (13) and information signs (14) for the floor selection by spotlights (32) in such a way that they can always be easily seen. The spotlights (32) are arranged in a centre roof strip (10) designed in such a way that it can be swung down and locked, while the fluorescent tube, fastened to the roof (6) of the elevator cabin (1) in the longitudinal axis of the centre roof strip (10), is screened towards the bottom by the centre roof strip (10) impervious to light. The translucent filling elements (18, 19), supported by a roof frame on the left and right next to the centre roof strip (10), are in this way uniformly illuminated at the side. There is simple access for exchanging a light source owing to the fact that the locking of the centre roof strip (10) can be released by means of a simple tool, the centre roof strip (10) swinging down on hinge-like joints. <IMAGE>
