[origin: DE4215602A1] A slot-shaped nozzle (3) extends at right angles to the strip travel direction (L), and is aimed at the strip at an angle (B) of between 45 and 90 deg. to this direction. The distance (h) between the nozzle and the strip is between 2 and 10 times the nozzle width(s). The jet discharge speed is approx. Mach. 0.3. An exhaust gap (4) is formed at a distance in the travel direction from the line of impact on the strip of between 5 and 25 times the value of (h).
