[origin: EP0513942A1] The invention relates to a lifting device for (at least) one compacting plank (7) of a roadway (covering) finisher (1), the compacting plank(s) (7) of which is (are) in each case articulated on one end section of two parallel support arms (10) which in each case extend on one longitudinal side of the finisher (1) in its longitudinal direction, which arms are in each case at their other end section (11) articulated on the frame of the finisher (1), so that the support arms (10) can together be pivoted up out of a lowered working position, in which the compacting plank(s) (7) rests (rest) on the construction material to be compacted, into a raised transport position, with a (preferably hydraulic) piston/cylinder unit (13) for each support arm (10), which in each case are at their one end (15) articulated on the frame of the finisher and at their other end (14) on the respective support arm, the piston/cylinder units (13) being arranged in such a manner that their piston rod (13'') is moved into the cylinder (13') in the working position (see drawing). <IMAGE>
