Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0514762A2] The ski boot has a lower shell (1) and a front shaft part (2) and a rear shaft part (3) which consists of a lower section (4) articulated pivotably on the lower shell (1) and of an upper section (5) articulated pivotably on the lower section by means of a pivot pin (17). The closure means have a tensioning cable (18) fastened with the end on the front shaft part (2) and a tensioning lever (20) which is connected to the other tensioning cable end and the lever pin (21) of which is arranged on a spring mounting (22) situated on the rear side of the rear shaft part (3). This mounting is secured by means of a locking catch (23) on a locking pin (25) which is rigidly connected to the lower section (4) of the rear shaft part. A pressure spring (24) arranged in the spring mounting is tensioned when the tensioning lever (20) is pivoted downwards. The ski boot is to reduce the risk of injury in backward lean, in particular in the knee region. In backward lean, the upper section (5) of the rear shaft part (3) is first pivoted backwards and the locking catch (23) passes out of its locking position. Subsequently, by movement of the spring mounting, the system consisting of tensioning lever (20) and spring mounting (22) passes backwards out of the upper dead centre position so that the lower section (4) of the rear shaft part can also pivot backwards into the open position. The leg is braked softly backwards in a two-stage opening movement. <IMAGE>
