Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0514800A2] In a device for pneumatic flotation, the gas-treated sediment is conducted via a pipe (16) into the bottom region of the separation cell (10) to a pressure build-up nozzle (19), which as a result of its reduction in cross-section builds up a defined pressure in the gas-treated sediment, which leads to a reduction in size of the gas bubbles. The sediment under elevated pressure is then, prior to entry into the separation vessel, expanded in a pressure reduction chamber (21) which is furnished with sediment outlet nozzles (22). <IMAGE>
