A device for use in removing food debris from between the teeth includes a rigid body (10,11) having a fluid passage (12) in it extending between a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, means for connecting the inlet to a source of fluid under pressure, a valve in the passage for controlling fluid flow through the passage, manual means (25) for operating the valve, a rigid tube (19) extending from the fluid outlet to a fluid exit orifice (20), and pressure relief means between that outlet and the exit orifice. <IMAGE>
