[origin: EP0515845A2] A connection between a cross member (4) and an upright side member (3) of plastic window frames, which are formed from plastic hollow profiled parts (5, 6) with an inserted metal profiled part (7 or 8), consists of a connection element which has a bolt (1) and a tightening screw (2) and is provided with a threaded bore (9) which is aligned transversely to its longitudinal axis and into which the tightening screw can be screwed through the cross member (4) from outside, of a transverse bore which extends through the metal profiled part (7) and receives the bolt free of play, and of a fastening device (17) for reciprocal force transmission between plastic hollow profiled part (5) and metal profiled part (7) of the upright side member (3). The force transmission takes place from the cross member (4) and the tightening screw (2) via the bolt (1), the metal profiled part (7) and the fastening device (17), which is preferably designed as a screw or screws, to the plastic hollow profiled part (5) of the upright side member (3) so that each such connection between cross member (4) and upright side member (3) can take place with a tightening force which can be selected individually and independently of a further connection acting on the same upright side member. <IMAGE>
