The invention relates to a homogenising machine for homogenising liquids such as emulsions and suspensions and the like, which has a working chamber and arranged therein a positive displacement device to increase the pressure, and which further has one or more inlet and outlet valves (2, 12) and a gap (15) for the purpose of homogenising, a diaphragm (4) being provided between the positive displacement device and the liquid to be homogenised. The method of operation of a homogenising machine, in which a liquid to be homogenised is conveyed through a gap, provides that the liquid to be homogenised is supplied to the gap under pressure at an approximately constant volume flow rate. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Homogenisiermaschine zum Homogenisieren von Flüssigkeiten wie Emulsionen und Suspensionen und dergleichen, mit einem Arbeitsraum und darin angeordneten Verdränger zur Druckerhöhung, einem oder mehreren Einlaß- und Auslaßventilen (2,12) sowie einem Spalt (15) für die Homogenisierung, wobei zwischen Verdränger und zu homogenisierender Flüssigkeit eine Membran (4) vorgesehen ist. Das Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Homogenisiermaschine, bei der eine zu homogenisierende Flüssigkeit durch einen Spalt gefördert wird, sieht vor, daß die zu homogeniserende Flüssigkeit mit annähernd gleichbleibendem Volumenstrom unter Druck dem Spalt zugeführt wird. <IMAGE>
