[origin: WO9112195A1] The folding device described has a collecting cylinder (1) which is fitted with grippers (7) and folding blades (5) and which can be switched from a collection to a non-collection production mode. The gripping elements and blades of the cylinder are connected to actuators which are preferably designed as feeler rollers (14, 15) and are each controlled by an associated radial cam (12 and 13, respectively). The control surface of each radial cam preferably has the shape of a depression (16) and can be selectively covered over or exposed by a cover element fitted with a covering cam (17) held on a drivable cam carrier (22) disposed coaxially with the respective radial cam (12 or 13). The covering cams (17.1 to 17.8) of each covering element can be adjusted in the radial direction on their associated cam carrier (22), thus giving a high degree of flexiblity in the collection operations which can be carried out.
