[origin: EP0516946A1] A description is given of a camshaft, the cams (2) of which are connected frictionally and positively to the shaft (1) by expanding the shaft. In the region of the cam tip (2a), the cam has a groove (5) which starts from the through-hole in the shaft and merges into an opening (8) of greater width (b), the contour of which is similar to the outer contour of the cam tip (2a). By means of this configuration, large jumps in stiffness, which would cause impermissibly high deformation gradients of the shaft, are avoided.
