Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0516979A1] The invention relates to a process for making, filling and closing bags from a thermoplastic tubular film web preferably provided with side folds, in which process the respective leading end of the tubular film web is provided with a transverse weld seam and a section forming an open bag is cut off from the tubular film web and in which process the bag is then filled and the open side of the bag closed by a transverse weld seam. In order to achieve the object of providing a process of this kind with which bags with integrated handles can be made in the most simple and cost-effective manner, after forming of the first transverse weld seam as head seam, the tubular film web is advanced intermittently and a further transverse weld seam as closure seam is formed with the same welding tool. The handle hole is then provided between these two weld seams.
