The invention relates to the arrangement of a front panel for a household appliance, in particular for a dishwasher, having a front-opening door which is mounted on the appliance body at its bottom portion so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis, and having a lower portion of the appliance which extends between a set-back portion of the base of the appliance and the door, the door being cased by the higher front panel and the lower portion of the appliance being cased flush by a smaller panel and the panel being connected to the front panel at its adjoining narrow sides by at least one hinge which can be folded forwards through at least 90 DEG . The panel (17) is connected at its bottom edge portion (21) by at least one connecting rod (22) to the edge portion (23) of a vertical base panel (24), said edge portion being remote from the ground and being located opposite said panel on the appliance side, which base panel (24) is arranged in the region of the set-back portion (14) of the base of the appliance (10) with spacing from the panel (17), which connecting rod holds the panel (17) in a virtually vertical position when the appliance door (11) is opened. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft die Anordnung einer Vorsatzplatte an einem Haushaltsgerät, insbesondere einer Geschirrspülmaschine, mit einer frontseitigen, an ihrem bodenseitigen Abschnitt um eine horizontal verlaufende Achse schwenkbar am Gerätekörper gelagerten Tür sowie einem sich zwischen einem Sockelrücksprung des Gerätes und der Tür erstreckenden unteren Geräteabschnitt, wobei die Tür durch die höhere Vorsatzplatte und der untere Geräteabschnitt durch eine kleinere Blende flächenbündig verkleidet sind und die Blende durch wenigstens ein um mindestens 90° nach vorne zusammenklappbares Scharnier mit der Vorsatzplatte an ihren aneinandergrenzenden Schmalseiten verbunden ist. Die Blende (17) ist an ihrem bodenseitigen Randabschnitt (21) durch mindestens einen Lenker (22) mit dem vom Boden entfernten, ihr geräteseitig gegenüberliegenden Randabschnitt (23) einer im Bereich des Sockelrücksprungs (14) des Gerätes (10) in einem Abstand von der Blende (17) angeordneten vertikalen Sockelblende (24) verbunden, der die Blende (17) beim Öffnen der Gerätetür (11) nahezu in der Vertikalen hält. <IMAGE>
