[origin: EP0517277A1] The invention relates to a single-stage liquid-ring gas pump with an overhung impeller (3) and a casing (7) with a suction and a discharge chamber, and suction and discharge connections on the side of the pump facing away from the drive. The continuous hub bore (13) of the impeller (3) in this arrangement is closed and sealed on the side facing away from the motor by appropriate measures, as a result of which the shaft connection can no longer be wetted by the hydraulic fluid of the pump or by the pump medium and corrosion is thus precluded. <IMAGE>
