Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0517688A1] A supporting device for a product (13) for splicing on a carriage (1) of a slicing machine includes, near the cutting plane, a slide (12) on a slideway (sleeve 11), which is mounted on a rail (10) so as to be displaceable by means of an electrical drive (15). The electrical drive (15), especially with a belt drive (16), engages with the slideway (sleeve 10), which tilts when subjected to a load and counteracts a push backwards in a self-locking manner. The point of application (17) of the drive on the slideway introduces restoring forces to the latter, which counterbalance the self-locking and align the slideway so that it is parallel on the rail (10). The rail (10) can be folded upwards and can be arranged horizontally or vertically. A position indicator, for example a pulse generator which counts the revolutions of the motor (15), is connected to a control system for a distributing device for determination of the diameter. <IMAGE>
