[origin: WO9112717A1] A method of preventing the advance of insects of the kind which move on the ground, on parts of biological plants, buildings or the like, wherein a mechanical barrier is placed in the path of the insects. The barrier has the form of a material composed of a large number of thin fibres. According to the invention, there is used flexible, thread-like fibres which are loosely placed together or loosely joined together to form a manageable material composition, such that when coming into contact with the material, an insect can experience the fibres as being the threads of a cobweb and be repelled thereby. The invention also relates to a device for use in carrying out the method.

Un procédé permettant de barrer le passage aux insectes du type qui se déplacent au sol, sur des parties de plantes biologiques, de bâtiments ou analogues, dans lequel une barrière mécanique bloque le passage aux insectes. La barrière a la forme d'une matière composée d'un grand nombre de fibres minces. Selon l'invention, on utilise des fibres souples filiformes qui sont placées ensemble de manière lâche ou rassemblées librement pour former une composition maniable de ladite matière, de sorte que lorsqu'un insecte entre en contact avec ladite matière il prend les fibres pour des fils d'une toile d'araignée et est ainsi repoussé. L'invention concerne aussi un dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé.
