Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0518064A1] The individually controllable grippers (14) are partially opened as soon as the leading, open edge (30) of the folded printed product (24) in question reaches the region of the alignment device (28). The printed products (24) slide in the mouth (22) in the direction of the arrow (F) until the open edge (30) strikes an alignment cam (38). The alignment cams (38) are driven so as to rotate at a slightly slower speed than that of the grippers (14), so that the printed products (24) are once again pushed towards the inside of the mouth (22), for alignment. As soon as the open side edge (30) has reached the end of the alignment device (28), the corresponding alignment cam (38) leaves the edge (30) and the gripper (14) in question is closed, to convey the aligned printed product (24) further. <IMAGE>
