[origin: EP0518302A2] The invention relates to a waste container, in particular made from stainless steel, whose wall consists of two half-shells (13a, 13b) which are connected at the top by a circumferential rail (19) and, in the first embodiment, are held together at the bottom by one or preferably two reinforcing hoops (17), the reinforcing hoop(s) serving as a securing means for a removable collecting pan (15) which forms the bottom of the waste container, and in a second embodiment the half-shells are tightly bonded, at the bottom, to the bent-over edge (11) of the base (10) made of the same material as the half-shells. The rail (19) is designed as an angled section of metal or plastic whose horizontal leg (19a) serves as a bearing device for the insertion of the waste container into a retaining device, and whose vertical leg (19b) serves as a reinforcement of the wall of the waste container and to receive at least one articulated carrying handle (14) which can be folded against the horizontal leg (19a) and thus serves to fix a waste container bag. The waste container has a circular or square cross-section which preferably tapers somewhat from top to bottom. <IMAGE>
