Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0519102A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for cutting off single cards from continuous card material, having a stationary lower knife (5) and an upper knife (6) which is guided so as to be longitudinally movable relative to the latter and which is driven by a motor (7) via an eccentric (8). To provide a simple, space-saving and good guidance and mounting of the upper knife, the upper knife (6) is provided with longitudinal grooves (11) which are parallel to the direction of movement and into each of which engages a guide flange of a bearing roller (12). On each longitudinal side of the upper knife (6) engage three such bearing rollers (12), two of which are located opposite one another on the top side and underside at the drive end of the upper knife (6) and one bearing roller (12) of which is designed as a holding-down device and guides the upper knife (6) in an exactly defined manner relative to the lower knife (5). On both sides of the knife edge (13), the upper knife (6) is designed with guide tongues (14) which project beyond this and which also rest on the lower knife (5) in the rear end position of the upper knife (6). <IMAGE>
