[origin: EP0519103A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for feeding value cards, to be produced from differing continuous card material, by way of a common cutting device to a card shaft (3) which extends between a card reader and a following processing unit and which is connected by way of a switch to the feed shafts (15) of the continuous card materials. To provide a compact and reliably functioning apparatus, the feed shafts (15) combined in front of the cutting device are connected to the card shaft (3) by way of a curved portion (28). Arranged in the region following the latter is a driven roller (26) which acts as a guide roller when the card shaft (3) is used for transporting a value card out of the card reader into the following processing unit and which acts as a driving roller when a card produced from continuous card material is fed to the card reader. <IMAGE>
