[origin: EP0519185A1] The invention proposes a fluid pressure operated actuator (10) in which the directional control valve (13) controlling the actuator (10) is attached externally via a flange plate (12). As a casing, the actuator (10) has a cylinder barrel (11) designed as a special section tube, arranged in a uniformly distributed manner on the outer circumference of which are four profiled longitudinal struts (22 to 25) extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and to one another. The flange plate (12) is guided in axially displaceable and radially captive fashion on two (22, 23) of the longitudinal struts, these longitudinal struts (22, 23), which are hollow, forming ducts (36, 38) for the pressure fluid, via which the pressure-fluid connections lead to the pressure spaces (18, 21) on both sides of the piston (15). The actuator (10), which is of compact construction, requires few parts to carry the pressure fluid, thereby reducing the risk of the escape of leaking pressure fluid. <IMAGE>
