Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0519243A1] The jaw-iron for a touring ski binding has a catch support (1), which bears catch depressions and is arranged on a baseplate (3), and a pivoting part (21) which is adjustable about at least two axes around the catch support (1). The pivoting part (21), which partially surrounds the catch support (1), has a sole-holder or heel-holder and a bore (27) with a compression spring (28) provided therein. The latter presses a pressing member (31) into a catch depression of the catch support (1). With its portion which interacts with the catch depression (10, 11), the pressing member (31) is constructed in the manner of a cylinder with a horizontal axis. One of the catch depressions (10), which are constructed to correspond in some sections to said pressing member, is formed from two parts which each have a depression lying on the same plane. Said depression can be moved along the depression axis to vary the spacing of the outermost resting width of the pressing member (31). The parts forming the catch depression (10) are formed by wedges (4) provided in pairs on the catch support (1). A spreading wedge (6), which is vertically adjustable by means of a screw (7), is arranged between the mutually facing wedge surfaces which converge downwards. <IMAGE>
