Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0519321A1] An elastic support, in particular for supporting transverse slats of a slatted bed base for a bed or similar resting device, which support comprises a hollow profile (12) which can be supported with its underside on a bearing surface (3) and consists of elastomeric material, is constructed in such a way that said hollow profile carries out a cross-sectional deformation in the elastic range in the case of vertical loading through, for example, a transverse slat (4) and, in this process, is subjected to bending stresses in web regions of its wall (23, 31, 37), said web regions being aligned, at least in part, at an inclination to the direction of loading (5). In this case, the hollow profile (12) is made up of a multiplicity of partial profiles (13) which are arranged evenly adjacently in two orthogonal directions (19, 20), are bounded by walls (23, 31, 37, 56, 60) of substantially equal thickness (24), have longitudinal axes (14) aligned parallel to one another and, together, form a honeycomb-type bending spring cell structure (15) with a mutually offset or interlinked arrangement in which each parallel of the loading direction penetrates at least one partial profile (13). <IMAGE>
