Electrical connector comprising a socket casing element (1) intended to contain electrical contact members, a plug casing element (7) comprising a series of channels (9) each intended to receive an electrical contact member (11), means for immobilising and locking the electrical contact members (11) housed in the channels (9), characterised in that the said means comprise a locking key (45) guided on the plug casing element (7) and having a series of spring tabs (60) each provided with a lug (62) intended to pan through a corresponding slot (37) of one of the walls (28) of the plug casing element (7) and emerging into a corresponding channel (9), means being provided for wedging the said key onto the plug casing element (7). <IMAGE>
