This spacer means consists of a tubular component with a vertical opening comprising two parallel sides (6, 7) which are intended respectively for support and for fixing onto a support-plate (3) and onto a crash barrier (2) and which are connected by two diverging wings running from the side (6) to be fixed onto the post to the side (7) to be fixed onto the crash barrier, reinforcing means (15) being provided to provide resistance to crushing. <IMAGE>
