[origin: EP0519905A1] A mortice lock possesses, to protect it against the lock latch (3) being pushed back by a tool, especially break-in tool, engaging on the latter, a control latch (12) which is located opposite the lock plate (10) and which is pressed back by this when the door is closed. The push-in movement is transmitted by means of a corner deflection to a bolt (14) which is located inside the lock case (1) and which can be pushed into the path of the lock latch (3) at a distance from a stop face of the latter. The lock latch (3) subsequently cannot be manipulated by direct attack from outside. The follower (5) engages on a lever (18) which engages into the bolt (14) and which, with the door closed, pulls the latter back, as a result of the actuation of the handle, out of the path of the lock latch (3) in order to release the latter. A changer (6) is connected to the locking mechanism, for example lock cylinder (7), and likewise engages on the lever (18). <IMAGE>
