Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0521262A1] In a lock having a bolt (5), a latch (3) and a handle follower (11) coupled to an inner and an outer operating grip (2) and intended for actuating the latch (3) and the bolt (5), when the operating grip (2) returns into a middle position as a result of spring force, the latch (3) can be pulled back in a first direction of rotation when the operating grip is turned. If the door is not locked, it can be opened both from inside and from outside by means of the handle. It is therefore necessary for safety reasons to prelock the bolt by means of a key. It is possible, by means of the operating grip of the lock, to actuate additional bolts which are mounted above and/or below the actual lock and which come into an operative position by means of a turn in the second direction of rotation. When the operating grip is released, it returns to the neutral position. To achieve a simplification of operation, during a turning movement of the handle follower in the second direction of rotation the bolt is prelocked, and for the automatic blocking of the bolt in its operative position a tumbler (29) is displaced into an inoperative position as a result of an actuation of the handle follower (11) in the second direction of rotation. In said inoperative position, a blocking member (28) displaceable towards the bolt (5) and spring-loaded in this direction blocks the bolt (5) at least indirectly. <IMAGE>
