[origin: EP0522255A1] The invention relates to a method for severing the rovings (15) on roving bobbins (6) produced on roving frames (1). According to the invention, the roving frames (1) are stopped in a position in which the press fingers (5) bear on the cylindrical region (18) of the roving bobbins (6). Subsequently, the bobbin rail is lowered, and at the same time the roving bobbins (6) are rotated in reverse. This is followed by a short forward rotation of the roving bobbins (6) and by an accumulation of roving material by a brief switch-on of the drawing unit (13). Lastly, the bobbin rail (8) is raised again and the rovings (15) are thereby severed level with the cylindrical region (18) of the roving bobbins (6). <IMAGE>
