Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0522427A1] In a multipole coupling half, the actual housing is used indirectly via a plug-in unit for holding contact elements to which an electrical lead is connected. For insertion of the contact elements, the plug-in unit must be secured in a pre-latching position, where perforations in the housing which are used for insertion of the contact elements are aligned with corresponding holders in the plug-in unit. In order reliably to attain this pre-latching position and in order not to reach the final locking position of the plug-in unit in an undesired manner, a blocking knob, which can be pressed in elastically transversely with respect to the displacement direction, is provided on the plug-in unit, to which blocking knob a window in the housing which has a corresponding blocking profile is allocated. Before the plug-in unit can be pushed in further, the blocking knob must be pressed in manually from the outside of the housing through the window, which is at the same time used as an operating opening, until the blocking profiles become disengaged. The blocking knob thus acts like a pushbutton. The latter is preferably integrally formed on an elastically bending arm of the plug-in unit. <IMAGE>
