Abstract (en)
A closure (24) is provided for use with a progressively engageable elongate fastener or fasteners, such as a slide fastener or fasteners, of the kind having elongated components (2; 3) which have an at least substantially fluid resistant connection. The closure seals over the ends of the connected components (2; 3) so that items connected by the fastener or fasteners are rendered substantially fluid resistant at the ends of the components. The closure comprises two opposed imperforate pads (25; 26) which sealingly engage with those regions of the items in front of and behind the ends of the components and define a housing which encloses the ends. A fastening (31) secures the pads together. Adjacent ends of successive fasteners extending in line or at angles to one another may be closed over by the closure. The closure is applicable to fasteners connecting items of clothing and to various other articles requiring a substantially fluid resistant connection between them. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
