[origin: EP0523301A1] An emergency hanger (16) for suspending a casing (13) at a wellhead has a depending tubular housing (18) formed internally with grooves (19) containing integral annular toothed slip sealing rings (20). To secure and seal the casing, it is pulled up through the rings (20), and then released so that the rings jam in the lower parts of the grooves and bite into the casing. <IMAGE>
