[origin: EP0523351A1] The invention relates to a mechanism for a file, having a baseplate (10) consisting of sheet metal, two spaced-apart insertion pins (12) projecting vertically from the baseplate (10), a switchover bar (18) which consists of a bent metal wire, has a centrally bent bearing web (14), and is mounted pivotably on the baseplate (10), and having an actuating lever (22) which acts on the bent part of the bearing web and by means of which the switchover bar (18) can be pivoted to a limited extent between an open position and a closed position counter to the force of a restoring spring 24. The pivot bearing of the switchover bar (18) has two bearing tongues (30) which are punched out of the baseplate with spacing from one another and from the insertion pins (12) and are rolled in each case around a non-bent part (28) of the bearing web (14) from the side of the insertion pins (12), and, additionally, two counter-bearing tongues (32) which are punched out of the baseplate (10), are bent up vertically and each engage behind one of the non-bent parts (28) of the bearing web on the opposite side of the bearing tongues (30) in the direction of rolling. <IMAGE>
