[origin: EP0523402A1] In a motor-vehicle door stop which consists of a holder housing rigidly fastened to one door-arrangement part, namely the door or door column, and of a door-holding band passing through said holder housing, articulated pivotably on the other door-arrangement part about an axis parallel to the door-hinge axis and provided with braking and catching marks and in which there are provided in the holder housing two rollers or cylinders which interact with the door-holding band and one of which is mounted as an abutment roller in the holder housing rotatably about a fixed axis and the other of which is displaced on a holder suspended pivotably in the holder housing and suspended in the holder housing so as to be pivotable counter to a spring load perpendicularly to the plane of movement of the door-holding band, the abutment roller and the loading roller are respectively designed as essentially smooth-faced rollers, and the door-holding band is assigned a lateral guide which is arranged within the holder housing and prevents transverse movements in its plane of movement or tilting movements relative to its axis of articulation and which is formed particularly on the holder carrying the loading roller. <IMAGE>
