[origin: EP0523625A1] A piston for internal combustion engines with a cooling duct (2) which is connected to an inlet duct and an outlet duct (4), which open out on the underside of the piston or into the piston inner chamber (5). A transverse bore (6) which extends from the outside of the shaft (7) to the piston pin bore (8) passes through both the inlet duct and the outlet duct (4), respectively. In this way a good supply of lubricating oil is ensured to those parts of the piston pin bearing particularly subjected to stresses. <IMAGE>
