[origin: EP0524134A2] The tape-delivering device has two separate tape stores, i.e. a forward tape store (10.1) and a reverse tape store (10.2). The two stores take the form of chambers which can accommodate a specific quantity of tape material in a controllable fashion. The stores are filled and emptied by the co-ordinated interaction of a buffer separator (3) and delivery rollers (17.1, 17.2). The buffer separator (3) blocks the passage of the tape upstream of the feed/outlet apertures of the two tape stores (20.1, 20.2), therefore causing the tape to bulge into the storage spaces. Filling of at least the forward tape store is preferably supported by a delivery device (11). The required delivery of tape material can be precisely determined during prestorage by means of sensors. <IMAGE>
