[origin: WO9116537A1] The unit described, which is designed to pump fuel from a fuel tank to a vehicle internal-combustion engine, has two internally geared pumps (13, 14) connected in series, one of which is the preliminary feed pump (13) for the main feed pump (14). The throughput of the preliminary feed pump is somewhat greater than that of the main feed pump. By means of a constriction (44) or a valve in the return path to the fuel tank, the surplus fuel is used to generate a pressure which ensures bubble-free fuel feed to the main feed stage and hence an almost constant main-feed throughput.

L'unité d'alimentation en carburant depuis un réservoir jusqu'au moteur à combustion interne présente deux pompes à engrenage intérieur (13, 14) montées en série, dont l'une est la pompe de préalimentation (13) pour la pompe d'alimentation principale (14). Le débit de la pompe de préalimentation est un peu plus grand que celui de la pompe d'alimentation principale. Par l'intermédiaire d'un diaphragme d'étranglement (44) ou d'une soupape dans le retour vers le réservoir est engendrée, au moyen de la quantité excédentaire, une pression d'admission assurant une amenée de carburant exempte de bulles de gaz vers l'étage d'alimentation principal, et par conséquent un débit presque constant de l'étage d'alimentation principal.
