[origin: WO9116699A1] A warning system for preventing road accidents is provided and has a radio frequency transmitter (1) which emits a warning signal when a sensor (7, 8) detects sudden acceleration or deceleration or rolling over of a vehicle in which the transmitter (1) is mounted. The warning system also has a radio frequency receiver (2) to receive such a warning signal within a limited range, perhaps 1-2 kilometers, from the transmitter (1). The receiver (2) has means to emit an alerting signal to a driver of a vehicle in which the receiver is mounted and such an alerting signal is emitted after receipt of a warning signal. The alerting signal may be audible and if so the system may have an incoming signal acknowledge switch (15) to enable the driver to silence the signal.

Ledit système comporte un émetteur de fréquences radio (1) qui émet un signal d'avertissement lorsqu'un capteur (7, 8) détecte une accélération ou décélération subite ou le renversement du véhicule dans lequel ledit capteur (1) est monté. Le système d'avertissement comporte également un récepteur de fréquences radio (2) qui reçoit ledit signal d'avertissement dans un rayon limité, peut-être 1-2 kilomètres, dudit émetteur (1). Le récepteur (2) comporte des moyens pour transmettre un signal d'alerte au conducteur du véhicule dans lequel le récepteur est monté, ledit signal étant transmis après réception d'un signal d'avertissement. Le signal d'alerte peut être acoustique, et dans ce cas, le système peut comporter un interrupteur d'acquittement du signal d'arrivée (15) pour permettre au conducteur de couper le signal.
