[origin: WO9214412A1] Disclosed is a surgical instrument designed for cutting or gripping, the instrument having a tubular body (2) the rear end of which is joined to an end-piece (1). On the end-piece (1) is a handle (4) with an actuator lever (5). Fitted at the front end of the tubular body (2) are two pivoting jaw arms (9, 10) forming a gripper. Extending from the end-piece (1) to the jaw arms (9, 10) is a force-transmission device designed to open or close the jaw arms. The handle (4) on the end-piece (1) can rotate about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the tubular body (2). When the handle (4) is turned, the force-transmission device (22, 23) pivots the jaw arms (9, 10) together in the same direction. This enables operations to be carried out to one side of the incision through which the tubular body (2) has been inserted.

Un instrument chirurgical pour l'exécution de mouvements de coupe ou de préhension présente un corps tubulaire (2) relié par son extrémité arrière à une pièce terminale (1). La pièce terminale (1) comporte une poignée (4) avec un levier d'actionnement (5). Sur l'extrémité avant du corps tubulaire (2) sont prévues deux branches pivotantes (9, 10) formant une pince. De la pièce terminale (1) s'étend un dispositif de transmission vers les branches de pince (9, 10) servant à les écarter ou à les serrer. La poignée (4) peut tourner sur la pièce terminale (1) autour d'un axe perpendiculaire à l'axe du corps tubulaire (2). Lorsque la poignée (4) tourne, le dispositif de transmission (22, 23) fait pivoter les branches de pince (9, 10) conjointement et dans le même sens. De cette façon il est possible d'exécuter des interventions sur un des côtés de l'incision à travers laquelle passe le corps tubulaire (2).
