[origin: EP0525565A2] In order to simplify the connection of single-pole or multi-pole switching devices, especially in the case of a constrained wiring space or large conductor cross-section, it is advantageous to make it possible for the conductor to be inserted from above. For this purpose, at least one terminal frame (10) per current path is mounted on the switching device. A screw unit (20) can be pushed into this terminal frame (10), which screw unit (20) is locked in a holder (2) which is at the same time used as a terminal cover. In the case of multi-pole switching devices, the screw units (20a, 20b, 20c) are jointly locked in a terminal frame and are also jointly inserted into the corresponding terminal frames (10a, 10b, 10c). In this case, the terminal frames have a retaining slot (13) into which projections (22) can be pushed which are provided on a plug nut (21) of the screw unit (20).
