[origin: EP0525729A1] To provide containers (1) with an all-round label (2) of sealable material, the sealable material is drawn from a supply roller in a continuous mode of operation, an individual label (2) is cut off and then fed by its front edge (4) to the container, attached by means of at least one narrow area of adhesive in the region of the front edge, wound up by rotation of the container and subsequently connected by sealing the rear edge (5) of the label to the front edge of the label. <IMAGE>
