[origin: EP0526356A1] The present invention relates to a circuit breaker comprising a catch (12) having a high position when the circuit breaker is disengaged and a low position when the circuit breaker is engaged, the catch in the low position being retained by an interlock lever (10) upon which it bears, the lever cooperating with a current-surge detection device which, during a current surge, moves the lever away so that the catch no longer bears upon the lever and is free to recover its high position. The interlock lever can move between a high position and a low position; is brought to its low position by setting the catch to the low position; and is associated with upwards tensioning means (50) which are active when the catch is not bearing upon the lever. <IMAGE>
