[origin: EP0526398A1] The damping roller (10) is mounted in eccentric bushes (12) and, by means of hydraulic cylinders (15) by means of which the eccentric bushes can be rotated, can be adjusted roughly between its operating position engaged on the plate cylinder (3) and a position of rest removed therefrom. Additionally, a fine adjustment is provided, by means of which the change in distance between the axes of the plate cylinder and the damping roller as a result of deflection of the plate cylinder (3) can be compensated, which deflection occurs during throw-in of the impression cylinder (2). For this purpose, the hydraulic cylinders (15) are linked in each case to a worm wheel (17) which can be rotated by a worm spindle (18). Serving for the fine adjustment of the worm spindle (18) is a stepping motor (19) which is adjusted, simultaneously with the throw-in and throw-off of the impression cylinder (2), by a preselectable amount in each case in one direction or the other. <IMAGE>
