[origin: EP0526403A1] The device is provided with a transport belt (1) for the transport of a row of biscuit discs (3) situated one behind the other. The biscuits are inserted in groups into containers (5). Above the transport belt (1), a sensor is arranged, in order to measure the position of the individual discs (3) on the belt (1). A plurality of grippers (26) are arranged one behind the other, downstream of the sensor in the conveying direction, in order to take hold of the discs (3) moved in the conveying direction, to transport them onto a supporting surface (58) which is arranged laterally adjacent to the transport belt (1) and then to convey them into the containers (5) by means of a slide (61). The grippers (26) are controlled by a control device which is connected to the sensor. The containers (5) are moved downwards by a transport chain (52). <IMAGE>
