Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0526795A1] A process for the production of a photographic image, especially of an identity card, using a colour-photographic silver halide material on a reflecting support with a region I in which information is recorded in the form of a coloured image, and a region II in which data which can be read with infrared light are recorded, by processing with the steps (a) exposure, (b) development with a colour developer, (c) treatment with H2O2 or a compound which releases H2O2, (d) fixing without bleaching before or during the fixing, (e) washing or stabilising and (f) drying, where steps (b) and (c) can be combined to one step, leads both to a clear colour image and to a silver image which can be IR-read with sufficient reliability if steps (a) and (b) are carried out in such a way that the maximum silver density in the region II after processing is at least 0.35, preferably at least 0.5, measured in reflection at 850 nm, and the maximum silver density in the region I after processing is at most 0.5 in fields of a neutral colour density of at most 1.5, and is at most 0.4 in fields of a yellow, magenta or cyan colour extract density of at most 1.5, measured in reflection at 850 nm.
